Vienna, May 15 (TASR) - Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer said on Wednesday he was shocked by the Wednesday's attack on Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico in Handlova.

"The attack on the life of my Slovak counterpart Robert Fico shocked me deeply. Just a few days ago, we spoke on the phone and talked intensively about security issues. I wish him a speedy and full recovery! Hatred and violence must have no place in our democracies and must be fought with all determination!" Nehammer wrote in a post on X.
