According to her, the hospital's medical board will decide when the premier can be discharged, and when this takes place, he'll go straight into home care, which is what Fico allegedly wishes.

Banska Bystrica, May 30 (TASR) - The condition of Premier Robert Fico (Smer-SD) is stable and improving according to doctors' expectations, Miriam Lapunikova, the head of F.D. Roosevelt Hospital in Banska Bystrica, where Fico is being treated, reported on Thursday.

"We believe that his condition will continue to improve as well as it has been doing so far and that the rehabilitation process will go very well," said Lapunikova.

According to her, the hospital's medical board will decide when the premier can be discharged, and when this takes place, he'll go straight into home care, which is what Fico allegedly wishes.

Fico suffered multiple gunshot wounds following the government's away-from-home session in the town of Handlova on May 15. The gunman, a 71-year-old man, was remanded in custody by the Specialised Criminal Court.
