Bratislava, May 31 (TASR) - Premier Robert Fico (Smer-SD) has been discharged from hospital and will be treated at home from now on, the Roosevelt Hospital in Banska Bystrica, where Fico was initially treated, has confirmed on a social network.

"I would like to make use of this opportunity to sincerely thank the premier himself, as he was a disciplined patient, our team of great medical professionals for the excellent job they've done, all the armed forces for their professional approach, and all the public for the strong positive energy they were sending us," said hospital director Miriam Lapunikova.

The premier underwent additional medical check-ups on Thursday (May 30) that confirmed that his condition following the assassination attempt on him is developing in a positive way. The process of his rehabilitation has already started. According to the hospital, it will be physically demanding and time-consuming.
