Bratislava, May 21 (TASR) - The parliamentary resolution condemning last week's assassination attempt on Premier Robert Fico (Smer-SD) was adopted by a general compromise, opposition Christian Democratic Movement (KDH) leader Milan Majersky told a news conference on Tuesday.

KDH demanded that the wording should include the need to protect all constitutional and public officials. Majersky stressed that every single citizen must feel safe in the country.

KDH will accept any offer regarding a sign of reconciliation or a symbol of alliance in response to the attack. "We'll support all steps heading towards understanding in this society," stated Majersky.

At the same time, Majersky agrees that the House session should be resumed. He also informed the media about an agreement that only one speaker should speak for each caucus during the debate on individual points of the session and that MPs will not report with factual remarks. This also applies to the debate on changes to public-service broadcaster RTVS. "This is only a gentleman's agreement. Nevertheless, I believe that other political parties will respect it as well," he said.
